Frequently asked questions about street surfing
A waveboard is a two-piece board connected via a torsion bar. You move forward by moving your hips and legs - similar to surfing or snowboarding. You don't need to push off with your foot. The 360° rotating wheels enable sharp turns and carves.
The Wave Rider is the first waveboard with a 7-ply maple wood deck. This gives more pop, better control and a more direct feel than plastic waveboards. The aluminium parts and ABEC 6 bearings make it extra durable and smooth.
Waveboarding can be done from about 7-8 years, depending on the child's balance and coordination. The Wave Rider with its 84 cm deck is suitable for both older children and adults. Protection (helmet + knee/elbow) is recommended, especially for beginners.
You will learn the basics within 1-2 hours: riding straight and light turns. Within a week, you can carve smoothly. Tricks and advanced street riding require more practice. The Wave Rider's wooden deck makes learning easier because of its more direct feedback.
Technically, they are identical: the same 84 cm maple deck, the same wheels, bearings and torsion bar. The difference is purely in the design: the Volcano has a cool lava theme, the Abstrakt a modern graphic pattern. Choose what suits your style!
