Which hat is the warmest?

Hats with fleece lining or Thinsulate™ insulation are the warmest. Thinsulate™ offers 1.5x more warmth than down at the same thickness. Thick woolly hats also keep you extremely warm. For extreme cold (-10°C and colder), choose a hat with ear flaps or a balaclava. Result hats with Thinsulate™ are specifically designed for cold conditions.

Can I wash a hat in the washing machine?

Acrylic hats can be machine washed at 30°C with a mild detergent. Do not use fabric softener - this can affect the elasticity. Wool caps should be washed by hand in lukewarm water or on the wool programme. Always dry caps flat, not in the dryer. Do not wash faux fur pom-poms - brush them clean with a soft brush.

Which hat suits a child?

For children, I have special children's sizes that are smaller and better fitting. Choose a hat that covers the ears well - children lose relatively more heat through their heads. Models with pompoms are popular with kids. For toddlers and preschoolers, there are hats with straps under the chin so they don't fall off. Fleece-lined hats are extra soft for sensitive children's skin.

How do I prevent static hair due to a hat?

Static hair is caused by friction between synthetic materials and your hair. Tips: choose a hat made of natural fibres (wool) or with a satin lining. Use anti-static spray on your hair or the inside of the hat. A leave-in conditioner also helps. Tip: rub the inside of your hat with a damp cloth before putting it on.
